Ryan Leslie » “You’re Not My Girl” [Video]

Ask me what Ryan Leslie has Tweeted about lately...or what industry chick he might be dating, and you'll come up empty. All I know is the voice. It's the voice that popped up out of nowhere one day sometime ago and left a warm, familiar feeling inside. His looks don't make me swoon, his lyrics don't move me to tears, but I know if I play an R-Les track, I'll be sure to have a smile on my face (and isn't that enough these days?).

So forgive me if I forgo all the gossip-y talk we blogs like to indulge in sometimes (hey, I'm guilty, too!) and get straight to it. The video for his 1st single "You're Not My Girl" from his forthcoming 2nd album "Transition" is here. Though at first scene it seemed that our bow-tied serenader from the "Diamond Girl" video had gone all "Disturbia" on us, but thankfully he keeps it simple and smart, fulfilling the video's aesthetic requirements (sexy women, check! creatively-lit close-ups, check!) and showcasing his musical talents (hittin' the keys - one of many).

Though I can do without the questionable wardrobe choices and the jerky dance moves - and even with it's shady lyrical content - you can't help but like the dude standing in this ever-growing spotlight.
